Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment by adding new attachments. They can also increase its stats base or add additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player needs to have it in their inventory, as well as access to the kiln.
Items with weak bases, like rings, can be upgraded into a stronger base. Items with strong bases, like Titans from eth, have no change in their stats.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be used to upgrade weapons, armor, trinkets and gathering tools, giving an attribute bonus or extra effect when the equipment is used. They can be purchased from vendors, found as loot by enemies, or gotten from missions and chests. Some upgrades can have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain level before they can be upgraded.
To upgrade the quality of a weapon, armor or other item in the game, the player will need to select it and then click on the Upgrade button on the toolbar. The screen will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade statistics and the necessary component or materials.
There are three types of upgrade components that are universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, like gems, can be put on any type of equipment. They offer a lower bonus than upgrade components that have a specific type restriction. Infusions, which can only be placed in ascended gear or legendary equipment are similar to gems, but offer higher bonuses and cannot be placed in any other type of equipment. Suffix upgrades, which can be placed in gathering tools, will add their names to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for instance adding a Glyph to an item that is a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor will transform it into a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.
In the instance of upgrades for gathering tools, if a player replaces one glyph with a different one the previous glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace another upgrade component the item will be destroyed, with the exception for the inscriptions that can be freely swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from previous versions in several key ways. Gear is now categorised in tracks and each item can be upgraded a certain number of times before it is "leveled out." The upgrade costs increase with each level, but the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a few items and maximize the effect of those items rather than dispersing upgrade costs across multiple pieces.
This will allow the item to receive new upgrade components and a higher chance of success. This bonus is called the Artisan's Energy. It resets at 0 if the upgrade fails or increases when the upgrade succeeds.
Once a piece is upgraded to its maximum level it is able to receive affixes that will boost its attributes. The number of affixes that are available is determined by the item's class. For instance an uncommon or unique weapon that has a standard base will have only two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade requires the use of a certain amount of Flightstones and crests to complete depending on the item's current level and the item slot it's in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item is not able to reach its max level The NPC will offer the player the option of transfer it to another character and re-infuse it with another set of upgrades. This process takes up to two hours and will cost the same amount of materials however it will result in less chance of success.
To determine the height of a structure engineers use an instrument to compare the measurement to an established reference point such as a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This is known as a "level loop." It involves taking readings using the backsight rod and the level before turning the level to make the foresight rod reading. This method makes sure that buildings are constructed to a high standard of safety and accuracy.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a very important part of the game and can increase the strength, damage, or other attributes. This can be done through the item menu or using the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling is costly and should only be performed in very rare instances.
Reroll tokens are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can then be used to upgrade the original item or an similar item. Recyclable items come with a gauge that shows the degree of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled depends on the rarity and upgrade cost of the item.
In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes that made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you could receive the stats that mattered most to your build more often than other items. This included stats like the armor's total armour, thorns, and the control impaired duration stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and strike chance.
This has changed since the last patch. Priority affixes were removed and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling each stat. This can be a good or bad thing depending on your requirements and requirements from your equipment.
Each upgraded item could be equipped with a special fixed-value bonus that boosts its power by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added to the standard affixes. The more you improve an item, the higher chances of obtaining a unique bonus.
The game also comes with a number of sets, which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are equipped on a unit. This is a great method to add a lot of power to a specific character without spending an excessive amount of money.
Many players choose to reroll their gear and weapons, especially in the beginning stages of the game. This is because rerolling can provide a much faster route to a more powerful character which allows them to achieve high tiers and progress the game faster.
Sets

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers a wide range of upgradeable set items. Some items are worth upgrading while others aren't. Armor sets with the highest defense value or set bonuses are typically worth upgrading. Weapon upgrades are not as effective in improving stats as their counterparts in purple. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement increased as well).
Upgrades can also be made to bring certain items to parity with the different tiers. For example the Immortal King set has a vast range of levels, ranging from 29 to 76. Upgrades to lower level items can enhance their defense, and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.
To determine if an item is worth upgrading, players should click the Upgrade button on their screen for their character. It will show the item's features, as well as the required items to upgrade it. For example, the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials, 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Alternatively, players can go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to see the upgrade requirements of specific items.
In general, armor and weapons are more valuable when they are fully updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons that have spells or glyphs that damage weapons. This will result in a significant improvement in their stats. Weapons with an upgraded appearance will benefit from this upgrade because its defense will increase when it goes from purple to gold.
